We are a small select kennel situated on 80 acres off the Cunningham Highway between Mutdapilly and Rosewood.
Our nearest major town is Ipswich approximately 20 minutes away. Brisbane approximately 1 hour’s drive.
My love of the Pembroke started many years ago, when I first received my first puppy, Timmy, at the age of 5, from my brother. Timmy was a wonderful dog, went everywhere with me, and the first time ever my parents let a dog sleep inside. Timmy lived until he was 13 years old, and was such a loyal and loving friend and companion.
By this time I had met and married my husband Jim, and we started raising our 3 daughters, Michelle, Rebecca and Cassandra, and as Jim was in the Air Force we where constantly on the move, every couple of years until we settled back in Melbourne, January 1982 after being in Malaysia for 3 and a half years.
I started looking around for a dog, and found a little tri-coloured dog,

GOLDACRES HEROD, whom I named Ben. I started showing Ben, and had moderate success. I then went on the look for a bitch, and found BIRKS COPPER COIN, a lovely red and white bitch, and so became Bonoke Kennels. By this time we where then on the move to Queensland in 1984, brought our first house, which needed work, so showing became very limited, with doing up the house, working full time, and our girls riding horses, doing Show Jumping, Eventing and Dressage, though I managed to get in two litters.
In 1985 we moved out to our property where we are still situated today.

In 1991 I moved to Saudi Arabia where my husbands work was, and stayed there until I come home in September 1999. Jim is still working in Saudi Arabia.
I started looking around again for a corgi, knowing that this time we wouldn’t be moving. I was very lucky Debbie Nelson of Antudor Kennels, gave me a little bitch to show, Antudor Penny Aracade, who I took through and titled, Penny is now back at Debbies, after raising a litter. I now have Penny living back here on a permanent basis.
I then met Barbara Hyde of STORMWEY KENNELS, New Zealand, and Barbara let me have a lovely sound red and white bitch, STORMWEY MAID TO WIN, and also STORMWEY SET TO GO, both have now been made up to Champions. |
